Manatees Get Clutch Win Versus Idaho Falls
The Matlacha Manatees scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Idaho Falls Chukars at Fuller Park. Matlacha pitcher Bob Smithley held his own in the contest. Frederick Anderson nailed down his 15th save. With the win, Matlacha pushed its record to 33-25.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Martín Quintana came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Idaho Falls pitcher Ukko Markkanen, he hit a 2-2 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Matlacha on top, 4-3.

Smithley called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
