The Matlacha Manatees outlasted Brian Pilgrim and the Laredo Hawks, 11-10, in 14 innings. Pilgrim was impressive in the loss. The Laredo designated hitter went 5-6 with a home run, 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Matlacha is now 27-31, Laredo 35-23.

The Manatees got a clutch hit from center fielder Edgardo Moreno. In the bottom of the 14th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Manatees.

Manatees manager Howard Lee wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
