Shredders Win Squeaker, 1-0, Over Blue Demons

Mexico City got a big-time effort from pitcher Mark Bowden, but it wasn't enough to keep the Hollywood Shredders from winning the game, 1-0. Bowden threw 8.2 innings of 7-hit ball for the losing team. The losses continue to mount for Mexico City, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Kuniaki Yoshioka? The 32-year old left fielder Yoshioka stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Hollywood up, 1-0. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Yoshioka.
