Godfathers Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
|
The Pontiac Godfathers topped the Matlacha Manatees, 3-2, in M3L Single A action at Pontiac Copperdome. The standout performance belonged to Pontiac pitcher and Manatí, Puerto Rico, native Raúl Aguilera. Aguilera, who leads the 3A in complete games with 2, went the distance for Pontiac. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. The Godfathers now have a mark of 36-25.
Jesús Ortega was the walk-off hero for Pontiac. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Godfathers third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'll be honest," said Aguilera. "I didn't have much left in the tank."
