Expos Tack 5-2 Loss on Belleville
|
The Niagara Falls Expos got a stellar performance from pitcher Folkert Spoelstra, who handcuffed the Belleville offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Belleville Field. The Expos, at 40-22, sit in first place in the Menard's A.
Tied up with the Bulls in the top of the fourth inning, the Expos got a boost from designated hitter Miguel Ortega. With the bases loaded, Ortega saw a 2-1 fastball from Stéphane Huguet and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Niagara Falls on top, 2-0.
"It was a solid team effort," said Spoelstra after the game.
