Both offenses were feeble at Pontiac Copperdome. Fortunately for the Matlacha Manatees, though, Henry Symeonis delivered in the clutch. He went 4-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, to help his team topple the Pontiac Godfathers, 2-1. Chris Hamm was the winner. He's now 2-2. The loser was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Joe Preston. Matlacha, with the win, climbs to 15-48.

Matlacha took a 2-0 lead on Symeonis's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Joe Preston in the top of the sixth, propelled Matlacha to the win.

Symeonis attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
