White Walkers Pull Out Late-Game Win, 4-3
|
Buffalo pitcher Volmer Aalbers had a large part in his team beating the Baltimore Bullets, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Elton Ray picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-3. Larry Wallace suffered the loss. Buffalo has won 6 straight, while Baltimore has lost 4 in a row.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, former first round draft pick Iverson Allen had a real shot to win the game. Baltimore pitcher Larry Wallace was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Allen hit a run-scoring single. The White Walkers had a walk-off triumph.
Allen called the win "a collective effort."
