Stingers Earn Clutch Win, 5-4
The Toledo Stingers racked up a win at Pacesetter Park, bumping off the Boston Patriots, 5-4. Mark Garland, who started for Toledo, pitched effectively for his team. The win for the Stingers lifted their record to 62-46.

Toledo got a knockout punch from Bob Matthews. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Garland said.
