Hawks Get Past Huntington for 5-4 Win
Good production from right fielder Alden Swain helped the Laredo Hawks topple the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 5-4. Swain went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 for the Hawks. The win belongs to Carl Zolman in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mo Jones took the loss for Huntington. Jim Lee got the save, the 3rd for him this season.

The Hawks got a big hit from shortstop Ben Nelson. In the bottom of the eighth, Nelson smacked a bases-clearing double off Huntington pitcher Mo Jones. It was his 8th double of the season. Suddenly, the Hawks were ahead, 5-4.

"We did enough to win," said Nelson.

The loss makes Huntington 37-29.
