The Washington Generals picked up a win at Washington Park, taking down the Rocky Mountain Vibes, 4-2. Starting pitcher Rod Pierce was a big reason why. Ed Cook was credited with the save for Washington, his 4th of the season. The 11th-place Generals lifted their record to 26-40.

In the bottom of the first inning, first baseman Iestyn Tuxford had a 2-run home run for Washington. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Generals on top, 2-0.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Pierce.
