Pitcher Ted Green was rock solid in helping the Laredo Hawks beat the Levittown Blue Dragons, 2-1. Green got the win, improving to 8-2. He gave up 5 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Andy Lewis earned the save, his 16th.

Laredo used the timely hitting of Bob Gilmore to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hawks on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Green attributed the win to his team's "steely resolve."
