Niagara Falls Slaps 5-3 Loss on Matlacha
|
The Niagara Falls Expos earned a win at Fuller Park, knocking off the Matlacha Manatees, 5-3. On the bump for Niagara Falls was left-hander José Juárez. He had a starring role in the triumph. José Machado earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 2-1. At 42-26, the Expos claim second place in the Menard's A.
Niagara Falls used the timely hitting of Waylon Cross to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Expos on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Juárez said.
