Win Goes to Expos in Tight Contest
|
Chong-yeol Sin, who is tied for 5th in the 3A with a 1.05 WHIP, had a strong outing for the Niagara Falls Expos against the Matlacha Manatees at Fuller Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. The win went to John Weekhout in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Andrew Thomas took the loss. Chris Beatty earned the save for Niagara Falls, his 1st.
Niagara Falls used the timely hitting of Carl Hatten to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Expos on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Sin. "Successful pitchers do it."
Niagara Falls, at 37-32, sits in 5th place in the Menard's A.
