Manatees Suffer 3-2 Loss to Expos
|
The Niagara Falls Expos eked out a 3-2 win versus the Matlacha Manatees at Fuller Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Chris Beatty. He was terrific. The winner was Beatty. He threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Andrew Johnson. Rob Small earned the save, his 3rd, for the Expos.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Expos had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fourth, when left fielder Shigeaki Kawaguchi hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Andrew Johnson and made the score 1-0, Expos. Kawaguchi went 1-3 with a walk.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Kawaguchi.
Their 27-42 record puts the Expos 11th in the Menard's A.
