Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Long Island Lighthouse home opener. Ken Harding started for the home team against Jeremiah Cole for the Ft. Worth Cattlemen. The Lighthouse were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 2-0, Ft. Worth. Jeremiah Cole, though, was impressive. John Allen earned the save for Ft. Worth, his 1st of the year.

Jeremy Brooks, who is the 6th-best prospect in the Cattlemen organization, contributed to the Ft. Worth win with a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"The old adage is true," said Brooks. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
