Mississippi Gets 4-3 Win
The Greenville 84s inaugurated their 2055 season with a tough 4-3 loss to the Mississippi Mockingbirds at 84s Field. Starting Pitcher Noud Taaij had perhaps the best performance for Mississippi.

Mississippi relied on the hitting of Pancho Cháves to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mockingbirds on top, 4-0. For the game, Cháves had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Mississippi manager Beau Carsten.
