Expos Win 11-9 Walk-Off
|
Chris Ledesma added some punch to the Niagara Falls offense, helping them outmuscle the Walla Walla Walleye, 11-9. In the game, Ledesma, who is tied for 7th in the 3A with a .391 on-base percentage, was 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Niagara Falls reliever Horácio Kaisin picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Ryan McDaniel was saddled with the loss. The Niagara Falls win streak is now 6 games.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Niagara Falls trailing 9-8, Ledesma jumped on a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Ryan McDaniel and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Expos had a walk-off win.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Expos manager Joe Gregory, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
