Hermit Crabs Score Late to Beat Chukars, 3-2
|
Due in part to shortstop Balu Tuhin, the Huntington Hermit Crabs chopped down the Idaho Falls Chukars, 3-2, in 10 innings. Tuhin went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Huntington reliever Juan Martínez was the winner. His record is now 3-4. Jalâl Suleymanoglu took the loss. The second-place Hermit Crabs now have a win-loss record of 45-29.
Huntington used the timely hitting of Harry Austin to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hermit Crabs on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Vincent Cruz.
