Hawks Win with Late Heroics
|
The Laredo Hawks overcame a pretty good performance by Alaskan third baseman Jeff Godfrey, beating the Bush Pilots, 5-4, in 10 innings. Godfrey went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Laredo, at 38-37, sits in 7th place in the Menard's A.
The Hawks got a clutch hit from first baseman Gilberto Martínez. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Hawks.
"This wasn't a good win," said Martínez. "It was a great win."
