Generals Drop Expos, 6-4
|
James Rose was locked in. The right-hander led the Washington Generals to a 6-4 win against the Niagara Falls Expos at Waterfall Park. Rose, now 5-3, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Washington is now 35-41. Niagara Falls is 32-44.
Washington used a clutch at-bat from Jack Grimes to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the Generals ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Rose said.
