The Matlacha Manatees topped the Yucca Valley Yellows by a score of 2-0. Leading the way was designated hitter Joshua Hill. Hill threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball for the Manatees. Pedro Bernal snagged the win in relief. In 2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 6-1 on the season. Earning his 8th save of the year was Alonso González.

Matlacha took a 1-0 lead on Kun P'aeng's 14th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which P'aeng hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Yucca Valley pitcher Brian Quarles visibly frustrated.

"We did just enough to win," P'aeng said.

The 9th-place Manatees are now 31-46, the Yellows 33-44.
