The Long Island Lighthouse topped the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 4-1, in United States Silver League action at The Lighthouse. The game was highlighted by the performance of Long Island pitcher Anthony Hines. Hines, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Larry Alexander earned the save, his 1st, for the Lighthouse.

The Lighthouse picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"Anthony set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Long Island manager Michael Esposito.

The win gives Long Island a record of 1-1.
