Matlacha starter Chris Pate put the Levittown offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his sinker in leading the Manatees to a 2-0 win. Pate, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing no runs. The Manatees are now 35-43.

Roberto Vargo's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant, coming with a runner on 2nd and the game tied, 0-0. The Matlacha left fielder hit a run-scoring single off Eli Crawford to put the Manatees up.
