Manatees Reel Off Another Win
|
In a tight tilt between the Matlacha Manatees and the Laredo Hawks, Bob Smithley was the deciding factor. The Matlacha left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Frederick Anderson closed the game out for Matlacha, earning his 21st save. Matlacha has run its win streak to 6 in a row.
In the bottom of the fifth inning of a 0-0 tie, Matlacha right fielder Karl Johnson hit a 2-run single. It broke the deadlock and put Matlacha on top, 2-0.
