Generals Beat Expos, 4-1
|
Niagara Falls wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Fjodor Ishemgujin, falling to the Washington Generals, 4-1. Ishemgujin threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Bret White got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 6 hits and no runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Getting the save was Ed Cook, his 8th.
Pete Davis had a direct impact on the outcome. Davis contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Washington up, 1-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Davis told the Washington News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
At 30-48, the Generals claim 11th place in the Menard's A.
