Billy Goats Come Up Short at Ft. Worth, 7-6
|
The Ft. Worth Cattlemen topped the Colorado Billy Goats, 7-6, in United States Silver League action at The Cattle Pen. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ft. Worth second baseman Atticus Sappington. Thomas Rice nailed down the save. The win takes Ft. Worth to 1-1.
Brooklyn, New York native Atticus Sappington had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the sixth for the Cattlemen. With Ft. Worth trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Sappington.
