Vibes Get Past Washington, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Bill Holman gave the Rocky Mountain Vibes a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Washington Generals, 3-2, at Bellevue Field. The winning pitcher was Holman, now 11-2. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Aarto Taipale recorded the save for Rocky Mountain, his 19th of the season.
Rocky Mountain took the lead, 3-2, on Brian West's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Washington pitcher Arturo Alvarado in the bottom of the eighth.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," West said.
The Menard's A-leading Vibes have a record of 51-28.
