River Rats Win Streak Reaches 6

The Columbia River Rats extended their winning streak.
The Columbia River Rats beat the Mancelona Torch, 8-1, at Torch Field. Columbia second baseman Kenny Peterson had an outstanding performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Gerald Sutton was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 11 save opportunities.
With Columbia leading 1-0 in the top of the seventh, Peterson hit a splitter from Balduíno Leomil for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the River Rats ahead, 3-0.
"It was a solid team effort," said Peterson after the game.
The first-place River Rats have won 6 in a row.
