The Matlacha Manatees defeated the Belleville Bulls, 7-6, in 11 innings. Much of the credit belonged to first baseman Randy Sullivan, who was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Manatees. Matlacha, with the win, climbs to 19-61.

Matlacha used the timely hitting of Gisbert Oversluizen to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Manatees on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sullivan told a Matlacha Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
