The Laredo Hawks had to overcome a fine effort from Niagara Falls pitcher Olaf Blees to win, 6-4, at Waterfall Park. Blees went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Laredo reliever Jorge Cortéz snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ahamyati Tikku shouldered the loss. Laredo goes to 41-40, Niagara Falls to 50-31.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Miguel Angel Flores hit a full count fastball from Ahamyati Tikku for a run-scoring single. It put Laredo in front, 5-4.

After the game, Laredo manager José Gato applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
