Manatees Absorb 2-0 Loss at Bush Pilots Park
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Alaskan Bush Pilots and the Matlacha Manatees, Jesse Carter was the X factor. The Alaskan left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Carter picked up the win for Alaskan, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 7-3. Zhi-jan Wu closed it out for his 3rd save.
Jeff Godfrey, who is tied for 3rd in the 3A in doubles with 18, chipped in a solo home run for Alaskan in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
