Manatees Pick Up 3-2 Road Win Over Belleville
|
The Matlacha Manatees eked out a 3-2 win versus the Belleville Bulls at Belleville Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Andrew Johnson. He was terrific. Johnson picked up the win for Matlacha, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-10. The Manatees go to 20-61 with the win.
Matlacha used a clutch at-bat from Ysmael Moncal to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Manatees ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Andrew pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Matlacha manager Howard Lee.
