Carter Slugs Bulls to 8-4 Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Carlos Carter, the Belleville Bulls knocked off the Columbia River Rats, 8-4. Carter slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Bulls. Ken Wilson got the win, improving to 6-4. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. The Bulls now have a mark of 46-37.
With Belleville leading 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Carter came up to bat against Columbia pitcher Denzel Brown. Carter hit a fastball to right-center for a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Bulls on top, 8-1.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Carter told the Belleville Citizen.
