The Walla Walla Walleye defeated the Laredo Hawks by the score of 6-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Derek Zoolander. Zoolander was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Walleye on the day. Fernando Granja, now 1-1, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 2 innings. Zach Holland finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Walla Walla got a big at-bat from Kingston, Jamaica native George Tennyson, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Walleye ahead, 2-0.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Zoolander.
The win puts the Walleye at 42-41, while the Hawks drop to 50-33.
