Rocky Mountain right fielder Greg Hilton had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Hilton went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs, even as Matlacha beat the Vibes, 5-4, in 10 innings. Reliever Fernando López picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Justin MacBurie took the loss. The Manatees improved their record to 36-47 by beating Rocky Mountain.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Matlacha. That's when Huang-di Lan hit a 2-run double off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Justin MacBurie to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Manatees manager Howard Lee.
