Matlacha Manatees starter António Silva pitched a strong game against the Rocky Mountain Vibes at Fuller Park, leading the Manatees to victory, 5-0. Silva, now 4-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Matlacha is now 36-47, Rocky Mountain 53-30.
Sean Fernhout dealt the Vibes a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Matlacha leading 1-0, Fernhout hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.
Fernhout told a Matlacha Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
