Generals Continue Skid, Thanks to Chu, Blue Dragons
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons topped the Washington Generals, 7-3, at The Cave at Levittown. Levittown first baseman Xing-hua Chu was a spark plug for the offense. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Jason Herbert, the winner, is now 3-4. He struck out 10 and walked 1 over 7 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Levittown is in 11th place in the Menard's A with a record of 33-51.
The Blue Dragons got a big at-bat from catcher Dave Keller. For the game, Keller was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 10th double of the season gave Levittown a 2-0 lead.
In comments to the Levittown Gazette, Chu insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
