Niagara Falls Drops Another One, 7-6
|
The Alaskan Bush Pilots topped the Niagara Falls Expos, 7-6, in M3L Single A action at Bush Pilots Park. The standout performance belonged to Alaskan pitcher and New York, native Neil O'Keefe. Alaskan reliever Shi-xian Zou was the winner. His record is now 5-4. Garry Davis took the loss. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Niagara Falls.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Matt Elliott came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Niagara Falls pitcher Garry Davis, he hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Alaskan on top, 7-6.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Joe Gregory told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
