Chukars Suffer 4-2 Loss to Hawks
|
The Laredo Hawks racked up a win at Idaho Falls Park, bumping off the Idaho Falls Chukars, 4-2. Desi Riley, who started for Laredo, pitched effectively for his team. In 7 innings, Riley surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. The Hawks have now won 4 straight.
Hsuang-tsung Xian drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Laredo. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Dan Cortés. It was his 11th RBI of the season.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Riley told the Laredo Bulletin.
