Cattlemen Deal Lighthouse 3-2 Loss
Long Island got a big-time effort from pitcher Jeff Tate, but it wasn't enough to keep the Ft. Worth Cattlemen from winning the game, 3-2. Tate threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The loss drops the Lighthouse to 1-2.

The outcome might have been different for Ft. Worth, had it not been for Bill Brown, the 22-year old shortstop . Brown stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Ft. Worth up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

After the game, Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
