Idaho Falls Tacks 4-2 Loss on Rocky Mountain
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Idaho Falls Chukars got the win.
The Rocky Mountain Vibes were defeated, 4-2, by the Idaho Falls Chukars at Idaho Falls Park, even though Wyatt Williams pitched well for Rocky Mountain. Allan Novillo picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 9-6.
The Vibes had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Chukars going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right fielder Yoshino Kichida came to the plate. Kichida hit a 2-run home run on a 2-1 fastball from Rocky Mountain hurler Wyatt Williams. It was Kichida's 6th home run of the year.
After the game, Idaho Falls manager Robby Long applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
Idaho Falls, at 42-44, sits in 7th place in the Menard's A.
