Chiefs Take Down Manatees, 3-2
The Caldwell Chiefs got a stellar effort from pitcher Stanley Rowe, helping Caldwell score a win over the visiting Matlacha Manatees, 3-2. Caldwell reliever George Harris snagged the win, upping his record to 5-9. José Alfaro shouldered the loss. The Chiefs saw their record improve to 41-45.

The Chiefs relied on first baseman Cecil Burke for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

Matlacha manager Howard Lee said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
