Generals Win Squeaker, 6-5, Over Airmen
|
The Washington Generals needed 11 innings to beat the Alameda Airmen, 6-5, at Washington Park. Pete Davis, for one, had a fine performance. He went 2 for 6 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The loss makes Alameda 47-40.
The Generals nabbed the win, in part because of second baseman William Johnson. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Davis.
