Generals Get Clutch Win Versus Caldwell
The Washington Generals went home winners at Pipers Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Christian Jones. Jones stifled the Caldwell Chiefs, enabling Washington to grab the 2-1 win. Jones, now 5-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The Generals sport a record of 34-54.

Washington used the timely hitting of Don Young to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Generals on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Washington manager Kyu-cheol Kye.
