Idaho Falls Park was the site of a tense game between the Idaho Falls Chukars and Niagara Falls Expos.
The Niagara Falls Expos beat the Idaho Falls Chukars, 3-1, at Idaho Falls Park. Starting pitcher Fjodor Ishemgujin was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Ishemgujin yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-7.
Niagara Falls used the clutch hitting of Chris Ledesma to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Expos ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
Niagara Falls manager Joe Gregory praised his team's "energy."
The third-place Expos go to 48-40.
