Generals Take Tight Tangle
The Washington Generals picked up a win at Pipers Ballpark, knocking off the Caldwell Chiefs, 4-3. Starting pitcher Rod Pierce played a key role in the triumph. The last-place Generals have won 4 consecutive games.

Brian Ellison came through with a big-time hit for Washington. The center fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We're all smiles after that win," Pierce told the Washington News.
