Martin Roach pitched a gem to lead Belleville to victory over the Alameda Airmen, 3-1. William Elliott, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Jesse Clark earned the save for Belleville, his 29th of the year.
Bob Wright, who leads the 3A in stolen bases with 27, had a direct impact on the outcome. Wright contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put Belleville up, 3-1.
Belleville manager Rafael Avelar praised his team's "businesslike approach."
