Bulls Get Clutch Win Versus Alameda
|
The Belleville Bulls rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Jed Banks to a win, beating the Alameda Airmen, 3-2, at Alameda Field. Belleville reliever Norm Sizemore picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Javier Acosta was tagged with the loss. Scot Dixon notched his 18th save of the season.
Brian Walls, who is tied for 4th in the 3A in hits with 98, had a direct impact on the outcome. Walls contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Belleville up, 3-2.
"I still think this team can play even better," Banks told the Belleville Citizen.
Belleville has won 3 straight, while Alameda has lost 3 in a row.
