River Rats Chop Down Expos, 3-0

Juan Hernández, who is tied for 2nd in the 3A in innings pitched with 131.2, had a strong outing for the Columbia River Rats against the Niagara Falls Expos at Columbia Stadium. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 3-0 win. Hernández got the win, improving to 8-8. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Gerald Sutton earned the save, his 11th.
The River Rats got a big at-bat from right fielder Tim King. For the game, King was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Columbia a 3-0 lead.
"I like our moxie," said River Rats manager Bayram Tanaoglu.
The River Rats lead the Menard's A by 3½ games.
