Thomas Excels, But Generals Win
|
The Washington Generals overcame a pretty good performance by Belleville third baseman Bernard Thomas, beating the Bulls, 6-3, at Belleville Field. Thomas belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Won-u Yi notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 2-3. The last-place Generals have a record of 28-62.
Washington needed the clutch hitting of Denver Harrison to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Generals on top, 6-3. For the game, Harrison had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Harrison.
