Yucca Valley and Caldwell duked it out and the Yellows came out victorious.

The Yucca Valley Yellows beat the Caldwell Chiefs, 9-6, at Pipers Ballpark. Jerry O'Brien starred for Yucca Valley. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Steve Wilson snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 4 runs on 6 hits over 2.2 innings. He's now 1-1 on the season. Picking up the save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Menno van der Kooij.

O'Brien put Yucca Valley up, 5-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off Carlos Pereira in the top of the third. His 9th home run of the season helped the Yellows capture the win.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Yucca Valley manager Chaim Werkman.

Yucca Valley is now 41-49.
