Airmen Get Past Belleville for 1-0 Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Alameda Airmen and the Belleville Bulls, Manny Cruz was the X factor. The Alameda right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Picking up the save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Stewart Holman. The Airmen improved their record to 49-41 with the win over Belleville.
Alameda took a 1-0 lead on Jorge Reyes's 18th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Reyes hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Belleville pitcher Jed Banks visibly frustrated.
"It wasn't easy, but we got it done," said Reyes.
