The Laredo Hawks faced a tough opponent in Rocky Mountain pitcher Andrew Phipps, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hawks Field by a final score of 2-1. Phipps went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The Hawks go to 52-38, putting them second in the Menard's A.

The Hawks beat the Vibes in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out home run Juan Ramírez produced in the bottom of the seventh. Batting against Andrew Phipps, Ramírez gave his team the lead, 2-1, when he hit a solo home run.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Rocky Mountain manager Fred Leos.
