Generals Lose at Home, 5-4
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter José Carbajal, the Washington Generals lost to the Idaho Falls Chukars, 5-4. Carbajal was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Xiao-peng Le. He's now 2-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits for the Chukars. Idaho Falls is now 44-47.
Wes Noble had a big bases-clearing triple for the Chukars in the top of the first inning. With Idaho Falls leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher James Rose and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chukars ahead, 4-0.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Noble.
