Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Pittsburgh Kingfishers got the win.
Luis Rojas, who finished 5th in the SL in innings pitched with 151.2 in 2059, propelled his team to victory over the Montana Pandas. The final score was 4-2, Pittsburgh. Rojas, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
Kelsey Tate cracked a home run off Pablo Moreno in the top of the first. His 2-run blast put the Kingfishers on top, 2-0. In all, Tate had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Rojas.
With the loss, Montana drops to 1-2.
