Down to Defeat Goes Niagara Falls, 4-2
|
The performance of Mal Parker proved critical in helping Caldwell beat Niagara Falls, 4-2. The Chiefs center fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Caldwell reliever Miguel Angel Garza snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jeff Ricks shouldered the loss. Niagara Falls's current losing streak has reached 4 games.
Parker had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-2 cutter from Jeff Ricks, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Chiefs a 4-1 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Parker.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Parker told the Caldwell Daily.
