In a tight contest between the Rocky Mountain Vibes and the Alameda Airmen, Jim King was the determining factor. The Rocky Mountain right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-1 win. King, now 7-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Justin MacBurie earned his 5th save, after closing out the game.
Vernon Farr broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Vibes in front, 2-1. For the game, Farr drove in one run.
"We take it day by day here," said King, "and today was a good one for us."
With the win over Alameda, the Vibes improved to 45-46.
