Niagara Falls Expos starter David Cochrane kept the Caldwell Chiefs hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Olaf Blees earned the save, his 13th. The win elevated the Expos to 51-41.

The Chiefs had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Expos going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman Joe Crawford came to the plate. Crawford hit a 2-run triple on a 2-1 sinker from Caldwell hurler Daniel Watson. It was Crawford's 3rd triple of the year.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Crawford said after the game.
